Harsha Sugars plans expansion programme at Saundatti

Harsha Sugars Ltd is planning to expand its sugar mill in Saundatti village in Belgaum district of Karnataka. The project involves expanding sugar production capacity from 4500 tcd to 7500 tcd, captive cogeneration power plant capacity from 14 MW to 30 MW, setting up of a molasses based distillery with a capacity of 60 klpd. The new distillery will produce rectified spirit, extra neutral alcohol/ethanol. Land required for the project is around 51 acres which is already available. The project cost is estimated at ₹ 3070 million. As of April 2019, the project is in planning stage.
