Indian ice cream industry is now valued at USD 1.5 billion is growing at 15% CAGR. The industry is unique with large international and national players and at the bottom local /small regional players . The industry is set out for consolidation and mergers and it started with Chona family of Vadilal selling to Lotte Corp, Later Havmor Ice Creams was also bought by them at eye popping deal amount of over Rs. 10200 million.
