DGFT in India has extended the ban on import of milk and milk products from China till December 2018. The ban includes chocolate and related products and candies/confectionery/food preparation with milk and milk solids as ingredients. The industry and experts were of the opinion that the milk that came from China was contaminated with melamine content. The ban was introduced one year back and still there were no representation from our Chinese counterparts. Since, India is a largest milk producer any import from China is not needed further products in India are more superior when compared to China.
