Gujarat government through its Commissionerate of Fisheries is planning to develop a fishery port in Navabandar in Gir Somnath district of Gujarat. In August 2020, the Commissioner of Fisheries have invited bids to develop the fishery harbour, which involves marine dredging and marine structures. The project cost is estimated at ₹ 2,230 million.
As of August 2020, the project is in planning stage.
