Gujarat Co-Operative Milk Marketing Federation Ltd (GCMMF) popularly known as Amul is expanding its activities in Andhra Pradesh. The company is planning to invest around ₹ 3500 crore to set up milk chilling centres covering as many as 9899 villages. In Phase I, it will cover over 400 villages in Prakasam, Chittoor and Kadappa districts of the state.
The company has signed up with the state government, where it will provide finance to women for breeding livestock units of cows and buffaloes under “Cheyutha” scheme.
