NDDB to develop Assam Dairy with an investment of ₹ 2,000 crore

Assam government and National Dairy Development Board (NDDB) have signed a joint venture agreement for dairy development in the state.

It plans to process 10 lakh ltr of milk through six new units over the next seven years. It will procure milk from more than 4,100 dairy cooperative societies and likely to benefit more than 1,75,000 farmers associated with dairy farms in Assam and increase their earnings.

Two cattle feed and organic manure manufacturing units will also be set up under the joint venture. Besides, high yield Gir cows will also be brought to Assam as a part of this venture.
