
Banas Dairy has set up a production unit for sorting cattle semen in Bansakantha in Gujarat. he facility, featuring India’s first Make-in-India semen sex-sorting machine, aims to enhance cattle breeding by producing high-pedigree, high-milk-yielding animals while addressing the issue of stray cattle. The technology was developed by NDDB. The Dama Semen Production Unit, spread across 20 acres, is an A-grade semen station employing advanced scientific techniques like Genomics Breeding Value, Milk Yield Competition, Progeny Testing, and Pedigree Selection to breed disease-free bulls and calves. The facility will produce 25 lakh high-quality semen doses annually.
