SPR Sugars Pvt. Ltd. (SPRSPL) was set up in 1991 and the commercial operations of the company began in February 2007. The company has a sugar factory at Bidadi, with a crushing capacity of 2500 tonnes per day, and molasses as a by product. Molasses is supplied to Chamundi Distilleries Pvt. Ltd. (CDPL), an associate of SPRSPL for raw material for spirit business.
The sugar unit has a cogeneration power plant of 16MW of which 4 MW is used for captive consumption. The company is located at Bidadi around 25 km away from CDPL plant.
