About the Company :

With the blessings of Late Shri Govind Ballabh Pant, the first Sugar Factory of the state in Co-operative sector was sanctioned in September, 1956, to be set up in Bazpur region to move a step ahead on the road to development and progress. 108 Acres of land was acquired to set up the factory and the initial financial needs were collectively met by progressive farmers and the Government. The Government supported with a sum of Rs. 20 Lac and progressive farmers united to contribute over Rs. 54.42 Lac. as share capital. B.M.A. a German Company was called to supply & erect the 1200 T.C.D. capacity plant. The construction work took two and half years. On 16 February, 1959 dream came true. State first Co-operative Sugar Industry was inaugurated by the first Prime Minister of India Pt. Jawahar Lal Nehru and the then Chief Minister of state Shri Sampurna Nand headed the ceremony.

New technologies in sugar production were also incorporated. The production in the plant was gradually increased in different phases. From initial capacity of 1200 T.C.D. to 1600 T.C.D. in 1964-65, 1800 T.C.D. in 1977-78 , 3000 T.C.D. in 1981-82 and to a finally 4000 T.C.D. In 1991-92 . In 1991-92 the carboration process was converted to double sulphitation process.
