About the Company :
Incorporated in May 24, 1994 and promoted by Late Bal Govind Lohia and his sons, Ganpati Sugar Industries Limited (GSIL) commenced commercial operations of sugar manufacturing in 1997 with an installed capacity of 2500 tonnes crushing per day (tcd) located at Medak, Telengana. In 1999, the company increased its crushing capacity from 2500 tcd to 5000 tcd after undertaking a modernization-cum-expansion scheme of the facility. In January 2001, as a part of the integration process, the company further set up a bagasse based co-generation power plant of 15 MW at its existing site which commenced its commercial operation from January 2003. The power plant meets the requirement of the mill and the surplus power is sold to Andhra Pradesh Transmission Company Limited at a tariff of Rs.3.84 per unit, which accounted for about 5% of the gross sales in FY14. The apart, the company is also involved in selling of by-product molasses which contributed about 7% to the gross sales of the company in FY14.
The company had been admitted under CDR scheme effective from Apr.01, 2004. At present, the company has been advised to exit from CDR mechanism and the Monitoring Institution has computed the recompense amount of Rs.21.0 crore payable to the secured lenders against which the company has made provision for 75% of the amount and has sought waiver of 25% for which the approval of the lenders is awaiting.
In the ongoing crushing season which started from mid-November 2014, the company till January 31, 2015, has crushed 3,61,748 MT of cane with a capacity utilization of 104.20%.
