About the Company :

Parry Sugar Industries Ltd (PSIL) was incorporated in 1986 by GMR group and was known as GMR Industries Limited. However since 2010, it has been operating as a subsidiary of EID Parry (India) Limited. PSIL’s first sugar factory was set – up at Sankili, AP with an installed capacity of 2,500 tonnes crushed per day or tcd in the year 1997 which was increased to 3,125 tcd in 2002 and was further expanded to 5,000 tcd in 2006.

The unit has co-generation facility of 16 MW and distillery plant of 40 klpd. In FY 2008-09, two new units commenced commercial operations, both in Karnataka. The first unit is located at Haliyal near Hubli is a 3,500 tcd mill, 45 klpd distillery and 24 MW cogeneration unit and the second one at Ramdurg in Belgaum is a 3,500 tcd mill with a 6 MW cogeneration plant. The first two units are planned to be demerged from PSIL, to be merged with the parent company, EID Parry India Limited.

In August 2017, the company is planning to debottleneck the Kakinada plant to raise its capacity to 1.0 million tpa . It may be noted , the unit has suffered because of shortage of nau
