Vishnu Sugar Mills Ltd ( VSM ) has a most modern sugar plant of Gopalganj. 5000 TCD , in North Bihar (India) located at Gopalganj, on meter gauge section of Northern Eastern Railways.

Its sugar factory is one of the oldest sugar factory in India which was set-up in the year 1932 and taken over by Bajoria in 1952. The initial installed capacity of sugar plant was 800 TCD which was increased to 1200 TCD around 1960, then increased to 2000 TCD in 1987 – 1988. In 1995 – 1996 the Company undertook Expansion – cum – Modernization scheme whereby the capacity of sugar plant was increased to 2500 TCD

In 1999 – 2000 again the company implemented the scheme of sugar Technology Mission (STM) project for Technological Up-gradation-cum- Capacity Optimization Scheme of Sugar Unit as approved by STM. Government of India at the Project cost of 2126 lacs and simultaneously undertaken expansion scheme for increasing the capacity to 5000 TCD which was completed in Nov.2010. Consequent to said STM Scheme the Major machineries of the sugar plant was newly installed like replacement of entire mills, addition of Boiler, Turbine and Equipments in Boiling/Manufacturing House.
